- 300g beef
- 7 Potato (sliced)
- 5 Star anises
- 2-3 Cinnamon sticks
- 1 sliced ginger
- 3 shallot
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp Chinese rice wine
- 2 Tbsp sugar

Preparation steps
- Wash the beef, peel and cut the potatoes into slices.
- Boil the water, then put into the beef, boiling for 1~2 minutes and remove out, set aside.
- Put beef and potato slices into another pot with star anises, cinnamon, ginger slices, shallot and soy sauce, rice wine and sugar, filling with water to cover the ingredients.
- Bring the pot to a boil, lower the heat and simmer for for 1~2 hours.
- When serve the dish, cut the beef into slices.
Healthtips: Beef is an excellent source of complete protein and minerals such as zinc, selenium, phosphorus and iron, and B vitamins. Red meat is the most significant dietary source of carnitine and creatine.
Seasons tips: Summer, because it serves cold.
Grandmother tips: It is a good companion with beer or Chinese rice wine or other kind of wines.
