Ingredients:

  1. 300g beef
  2. 7 Potato (sliced)
  3. 5 Star anises
  4. 2-3 Cinnamon sticks
  5. 1 sliced ginger
  6. 3 shallot
  7. 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  8. 2 Tbsp Chinese rice wine
  9. 2 Tbsp sugar

Preparation steps

  1. Wash the beef, peel and cut the potatoes into slices.
  2. Boil the water, then put into the beef, boiling for 1~2 minutes and remove out, set aside.
  3. Put beef and potato slices into another pot with star anises, cinnamon, ginger slices, shallot and soy sauce, rice wine and sugar, filling with water to cover the ingredients.
  4. Bring the pot to a boil, lower the heat and simmer for for 1~2 hours.
  5. When serve the dish, cut the beef into slices.
